Our Aims

Waltham Forest – Save Our NHS aims to:

  • support the NHS in Waltham Forest to continue as a not-for-profit service, providing best quality healthcare, free to all users at the point of delivery, and funded through taxation
  • raise public awareness of any local or national changes to the National Health Service
  • challenge any service changes or cuts that threaten the quality of healthcare in Waltham Forest

To protect and improve our NHS we are fighting for

  • The principle that investing in everyone’s health should be a top priority
  • The Health and Social Care Act to be repealed, and the government’s duty to provide a free, comprehensive health service to be reinstated
  • An end to the privatisation of health services, including the added threat from TTIP
  • An end to the Private Finance Initiative and to the crushing PFI debts
  • An increase in funding of health services in East London to meet local need, both now and in the future
  • A determined drive to recruit GP’s and other health workers to our local health services
  • Staffing levels that are safe and meet patients needs. Staff to be paid and treated in a way that reflects the value of what they do
  • An end to the bullying climate in the health service, and protection f the rights of staff to raise concerns and defend services
  • The full involvement and participation of staff, patients and the local community in shaping a health service that reaches the highest of standards
